What You’ll Do Under supervision of a Program Coordinator, Nursing Faculty provide instruction that facilitates students’ achievement of course objectives, engage in scholarly and service activities to promote their professional development, and contribute to the success of the College and its students. Nursing Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of overall program, program outcomes and assigned course objectives. Design an effective learning environment that facilitates student learning to address contemporary issues in nursing. Lead simulation learning experiences. Didactic Responsible for teaching and evaluating students in the classroom. Support students’ progression in academics and socialization into the role of nursing. Actively participate in the systematic plan for curriculum design, program evaluation and program revision. Participate in effective teaching method training and professional development activities related to the program field. Serve as an advisor to an assigned group of students; contacting advisees at least once a semester. Develop student success plans and remediate “at risk” students. Clinical Oversee instruction and grading of clinical adjuncts. Facilitate the nursing students’ application of theory to clinical practice. Attend hospital‑based orientations. Communicate effectively utilizing professional techniques with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students. Identify and communicate areas of concern to Program Coordinator and recommend changes and solutions as appropriate. Review and grade clinical papers and provide students with timely and clear feedback. Maintain all records on student performance, i.e., Student Success Plan, Progressive Disciplinary Plan, mid‑term, and final clinical evaluations. Complete clinical site evaluations. Enforce policies and procedures of Texas County Technical College and the assigned clinical facility. Student Success Connects students to college resources for their success. Provide coaching and support to students. Provide input to developing, evaluating, and revising program policies. Participate in nursing events (i.e., new student orientation, graduation, etc.). Maintain professional competence/expertise in teaching through activities such as nursing practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects and professional writing. Faculty shall provide evidence of education and experience necessary to indicate that they are competent to teach a given course and develop and evaluate student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies within the framework of the controlling institution. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must Have Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care. Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location. Nice to have Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university. Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty.
