System Safety Engineer

Section Lead, Senior ManagerSystem Safety/Human System Integration (HSI) Department is seeking a Section Lead, Senior Manager to add to our team. As an on-site Section Lead you will guide employees within their career experience at Raytheon, as well as taking on responsibility for growing into and taking ownership of a technical discipline as a subject matter expert, developing and reviewing effective proposals, estimating on-going costs, and ensuring best practices are executed within all programs. This is an onsite role and will be located onsite in Tewksbury, MA.What You Will Do:Responsible for leading up to approximately 10-20 team members on average in various facets of design through sustainment of products for System Safety Engineering.Employee performance development and assessmentEmployee growth, productivity improvement, and recognitionPersonnel issue resolutionEnsuring compliance with company policies/proceduresEnsuring all personnel are properly prepared and trained for the scope of their tasks and leveraging best practices across all programsReviewing system safety work products for completeness and qualityPreparing and reviewing system safety bidsMentoring junior engineersQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 10 years of relevant experienceMinimum of 7 years experience in system safetyExperience in proposals, captures, and/or Estimates at Completion (EAC)Qualifications We Prefer:Ability to motivate team members by providing an open environment conducive for each employee to reach his/her full potentialExperience across the entire product life cycle including capture, development, production, and sustainmentFamiliarity with management of program support, subcontractor oversight, and customer relationships.Raytheon EV certification and CORE qualificationExperience with the Raytheon hiring processAbility to obtain and maintain special program access clearancesWhat We Offer:Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
