Urologic Oncologist (Fellowship-Trained)

Our organization is on the lookout for a fellowship-trained Urologic Oncologist to enhance our expanding and collaborative program in Minneapolis, Minnesota. • Become part of a dedicated team consisting of 3 Urologic Oncologists and 1 Advanced Practice Provider.
• Utilize cutting-edge technology, including Focal One Robotic HIFU and BK ultrasound, in both clinical and surgical settings.
• Work in a modern surgical facility at the new Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center, which boasts 30 advanced operating rooms and infrastructure tailored for rapidly advancing medical technologies.
• Leverage artificial intelligence tools to enhance documentation, charting, and support for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
• Collaborate with a comprehensive oncology team of over 100 providers, covering various specialties such as surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and supportive services.

• Engage in a hybrid academic-community model that merges academic-level medicine with community accessibility and efficiency.
• Access to 18 comprehensive cancer care locations throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
• Our program holds accreditations from ACS, CoC, NAPBC, and APEx.

Participate in our multi-center research program, which includes investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored, and cooperative-group clinical trials (Phases I-III).

• Conduct patient consultations and assessments, educating patients and their families about urologic cancers and available treatment options.
• Identify and treat cancers affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive organs, including bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular, and penile cancers.
• Prescribe and administer treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapies, and other targeted therapies; monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including general surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, urologists, general surgeons, and primary care physicians.
• Facilitate patient access to medical care through appropriate referrals and foster collaborative relationships with referring providers to ensure optimal patient care and service line development.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to remain updated on advancements in the field.
• Stay informed about clinical trial opportunities and participate in research initiatives as appropriate.
• Contribute to the formulation of clinical guidelines and best practices through committee involvement and quality improvement efforts.

• Completion of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program, or an equivalent from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of a urology residency and eligibility or certification in Urology.
• Completion of an SUO or other accredited fellowship in Urologic Oncology.

• Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records.
• Training and experience in robotic surgery.

• Must possess a valid Physician License from the MN Board of Medical Practice upon hire.
• Must meet at least one of the following requirements:
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • BLS certification from the American Red Cross.
  • Completion of Allina in-house BLS training within 90 days of hire.
• Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate required upon hire.
• Prescription Monitoring Program registration required upon hire.
• National Provider Identifier required upon hire.
