Immigration Attorney

Latitude is seeking a CT-based Immigration Attorney to join a boutique law firm located near New Haven, CT. Interested candidates should have at least 5 years of experience handling immigration matters before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Agency. The ideal candidate will have experience with asylum, removal defense, juvenile petitions, family-based petitions, citizenship, DACA, and VAWA matters. Excellent academic credentials, oral advocacy skills, and strong communication skills are a must. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in Connecticut. This is an in-office role with limited local travel.Responsibilities for the CT Immigration Attorney:Handle removal defense cases before the Immigration CourtPrepare and litigate political asylum and juvenile petitionsManage family-based immigration and marriage petitionsDraft legal briefs and appellate filingsAppear before federal immigration courts and, when applicable, CT state courtsMaintain regular, compassionate communication with clientsWork collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staffRequirements for the CT Immigration Attorney:At least 5 years of immigration experienceLicensed to practice and in good standing in ConnecticutExperience appearing before federal immigration courtsJ.D. from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentialsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, professional law firm settingStrong legal writing and advocacy skillsExcellent client service and communication abilitiesComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamReliable transportation and willingness to travel to court and to the law firm’s satellite offices when requestedSpanish fluency strongly preferred but not requiredPosition Details of the CT Immigration Attorney:Type of Role: PermanentSchedule: Full-timeLocation: In-person (near New Haven, CT)CompensationPay: The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $165,000.
