Delivery Expert Job Requirements And Duties You must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards, as well as access to an insured vehicle for delivery. You should possess customer service skills, navigational skills to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and the ability to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings. Drivers may assist with inside tasks periodically such as food preparation and cleaning. See General Job Duties for All Team Members for additional duties. You must be licensed in the United States for at least the last 2 years and be able to prove your licensed driving history. You must be an insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance policy. The vehicle must be registered. Pay $20.00 per hour, plus tips and mileage. General Job Duties For All Team Members Operate all equipment. Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler. Prepare product. Receive and process telephone orders. Take inventory and complete associated paperwork. Clean equipment and facility daily. Training Orientation and training provided on the job. Communication Skills Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person. Essential Functions/Skills/Abilities Add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator). Must be able to make correct monetary change. Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders. Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed. Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area. Must navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product. Work Conditions Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks. In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas. Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside. Fumes from food odors. Exposure to cornmeal dust. Cramped quarters including walk-in cooler. Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500 degrees or higher. Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts. Sensing Talking and hearing on telephone. Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks. Depth perception. Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces. Temperaments The ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions. Physical Requirements Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, stooping/bending, crouching/squatting, reaching, hand tasks, machines/tools/equipment. Standing – Most tasks are performed from a standing position. Walking – For short distances for short durations. Surfaces include ceramic tile and linoleum in some areas. Height of work surfaces is between 36" and 48". Sitting – Paperwork is normally completed in an office at a desk or table. Lifting – Bulk product deliveries are made and unloaded by hand truck. Deliveries may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds and up to 3' x 1.5'. Cases are usually lifted from floor and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high. Carrying – Large cans (≈3 lb 7 oz), pizza sauce (up to 30 lb), trays of dough (≈12 lb per tray). Pushing – Move trays on dollies; force up to ~7.5 pounds. Trays may also be pulled. Climbing – Infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder for signs, walls, or maintenance. Stooping/Bending – Forward bending at the waist at the pizza assembly station; some positions require limited knee flexion. Crouching/Squatting – Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas. Reaching – Reaching above 72" occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices, or lift and lower objects; reaching down to scoop cornmeal or wash dishes. Hand Tasks – Eye-hand coordination essential; frequent use of hands for many tasks including dough shaping and handling utensils. Qualifications All drivers (applicant or employee) must meet these requirements to be eligible to drive: Must be 18 years or older Have a minimum of the last 2 years licensed driving history in the United States Must provide documentation of at least 2 years of licensed driving history in the U.S. Must have an unsuspended or uninterrupted driving history of at least 1.5 years during the last 2 years No more than 1 violation and 1 at-fault accident in the last 2 years No more than 2 violations and 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years No more than 3 violations in the last 3 years No more than 1 at-fault accident in the last 3 years Moving citations count as violations; seatbelt citations do not count; inoperable brake light citations do not count. No distracted driving/inattentive driving violations in the last 3 years No serious violations in the past 5 years (examples include drugs/alcohol, leaving the scene, failing to report an accident, reckless driving, vehicular homicide, hit and run, speed contest, eluding police, false police report, driving while suspended/not licensed, speeding 30 mph or faster over the limit) Periodic Delivery Vehicle Inspection Motor vehicles used for business purposes must pass the following inspections at the start of employment and periodically thereafter: headlights, turn signals, tires, rear-view mirror, taillights/brake lights, brake pressure, windshield wipers, doors, backup lights, exhaust system, horn, safety belt. Any vehicle that does not pass the inspection must not be used for business deliveries. This does not replace professional mechanical inspections, and the operator is responsible for safe operating condition. You must be 18 years of age. Have a valid driver’s license for two years or more. Have valid car insurance and registration (you MUST be listed on the car insurance policy). Ensure that your vehicle meets safety standards.
