About the Position

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Leukemia & Hematology Unit – Ohio

Start Date: December 14, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights rotating OR Nights only); variable weekend coverage based on unit needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period

Highlights:

• Specialize in caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a 24-bed medical unit
• High acuity environment with frequent blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Goal nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 based on census)
• EPIC charting system; GE telemetry monitoring with B450 monitors
• 72-hour comprehensive orientation with robust interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; chemotherapy certification not mandatory
• 13-week travel assignment with one pre-approved time off period

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of PCU/Step-Down experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS, ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line/PICC line management, and peripheral line care
• EPIC charting experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will be screened for review
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

• Daily census approximately 22 patients

• Strict compliance deadline: Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed immediately upon contract signing
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away from facility
