About the Position

Job Opportunity – Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts; Day/Night or Night rotation available. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs. Weekend coverage varies based on unit requirements.

Highlights:

• Specialized Bone Marrow Transplant unit managing complex hematologic malignancies including ALL, AML, multiple myeloma, lymphomas, and myelodysplastic syndromes
• Advanced transplant procedures: autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic transplants, plus CAR-T therapy
• Mixed acuity progressive care and medical-surgical oncology unit with 36 beds and average daily census of 33 patients
• Epic electronic medical record system with computerized charting; GE telemetry monitoring system
• 72-hour comprehensive orientation program with robust interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
• May float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience
• Minimum 1 year of current Medical-Surgical and Oncology experience required (must be actively working in specialty within last 12 months)
• Hematology-Oncology experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• ONS Chemotherapy Certification preferred (not required)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Essential Clinical Skills:

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing with dysrhythmia interpretation
• Blood product administration and transfusion management
• Central line blood draws, PICC line management, and port access/management
• Care of bone marrow transplant patients and management of leukemia/blood dyscrasias
• Recognition and communication of abnormal laboratory values
• Feeding tube care and management
• Isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols
• Utilization of Rapid Response Teams
