# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Oncology – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs; 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity unit combining Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical patients with oncology focus
• Patient population includes head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology, and brain tumor cases
• EPIC electronic medical records system; 72 hours of orientation provided
• Oncology experience preferred but not required; strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety
• 36-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Float assignments within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of current acute care RN experience required (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care/management including suctioning and inner cannula changes
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with chemotherapy administration
• BiPAP/CPAP management experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills

Clinical Skills & Equipment:

• GE telemetry system with B450 monitors
• Alaris infusion pumps and bladder scanners
• Drain management (JP drains, Hemovacs)
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
