The staff will be responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration. Patients typically include those with soft tissue malignancies receiving diagnostic services and chemotherapy. Care includes symptom management secondary to disease-related treatment or progression. There is a focus on managing comorbidities and implementing infection prevention protocols. Staff must adhere to safety protocols to prevent patient falls. Special equipment utilized in this unit includes GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds. Key skills required include interpretation of dysrhythmias, accessing ports, and central line management. Experience with blood product administration and IV starts is needed. Assisting with chest tube insertion/removal and high flow nasal cannula management is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in interpreting ABGs. Candidates must be prepared to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity. Please Note: Acute care experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months. All candidates must comply with credentialing requirements promptly. References from supervisors or formal leaders are required. No coworker references will be accepted.
