Repair Technician

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00/hour
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday - Thursday | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Repair Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and test a variety of electronic equipment. This individual will be responsible for diagnosing product failures, performing component-level repairs, verifying functionality, and maintaining an organized repair area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair electronic products and assemblies.
• Perform root cause analysis to determine appropriate repair or disposition of returned equipment.
• Conduct functional testing using established procedures and test equipment.
• Configure hardware and software as required to support testing and repairs.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Document repair activities and maintain accurate service records.
• Maintain inventory of replacement parts and notify management when stock replenishment is needed.
• Organize incoming repair inventory and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending process improvements.
• Follow all safety, quality, and ESD procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and other internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience repairing electronic assemblies or printed circuit boards (PCBAs).
• Soldering experience required; J-STD certification is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with electronic and mechanical systems.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing, assembly, and disassembly processes.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and/or software is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in documenting repair activities and communicating technical findings.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of experience in electronics repair, manufacturing, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
