Under the general supervision of the Supervisor I, the Analyst I/Analyst II serves as part of the Children and Family Services Division (CFSD), Central Operations Management Organization (Central Ops), Contracts Coordination Unit (CCU). The CCU provides administrative and financial oversight for all CFSD contracts and is dedicated to building a high performing work environment where staff, customers, and business partners are respected and valued. The CCU is seeking a talented, self motivated individual who works well in a team environment and can provide timely updates to supervisors. Ideal candidates will demonstrate proficient math and computer skills (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), fundamental knowledge of State budgeting and contracting, and governmental accounting (including FI$Cal), strong analytical abilities, the capacity to manage multiple priorities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, creativity, and the ability to translate direction into action through completed staff work.
Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.
In-person attendance is required based on the operational needs of the position and in accordance with Executive Order N-22-25 the Statewide Hybrid Telework Policy, Government Code section 14200, and any applicable department telework requirements. The successful candidate must reside in California at the time of appointment. Proof of California residency may be required.

This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
This position may be eligible for Hybrid work. - State contracting and procurement experience and understanding of its processes. - Experience coordinating, developing, or managing complex contracts. - Experience working directly with program managers, leadership, and external partners to resolve contract issues or support contract development. - Ability to speak publicly to peers, leadership, and external stakeholders. - Knowledge of budget development, funding sources, cost allocation, and expenditure tracking for state procurements. - Strong analytical skills, including ability to identify contract issues, propose solutions, and make recommendations. - Proficiency creating and maintaining contract tracking systems, spreadsheets, or databases to monitor agreements and expenditures. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting clear guidance, instructions, or procedural documents. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing competing priorities, and meeting strict deadlines. - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide clear, timely updates to supervisors and program leadership. - Research, resolve, and respond to complex state contracting technical assistance. - Experience in Microsoft Office applications and navigating SharePoint.
