Front Desk Representative

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Front Desk Representative to join our healthcare team. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for our patients while ensuring smooth, efficient front office operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment This person would be scheduled to work in our Yarmouth office with coverage as needed in Sandwich and Falmouth offices. Full time-Monday through Friday; Hours vary between 7-3:30, 7:15-4:15, and 8:30 to close. Key Responsibilities Greet and register patients promptly and courteously upon arrival. Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information. Possess working knowledge of a variety ofinsurance plans and coverages; determine eligibility and coverage for services. Collectco-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balancesat check-in and check-out. Assist patients withpast due balances, explaining payment options and processing transactions. Schedule patient and diagnostic appointmentsaccurately and efficiently formultiple physicians, coordinating with internal departments. Follow up on appointments to minimize no-shows and maximize productivity. Address patient inquiries in person with professionalism and care. Collaborate with clinical staff and management to ensure optimal patient flow. Take initiative in solving problems and escalating issues when needed. Contribute to a positive office culture bydemonstrating leadership and a willingness to take on challenges. Ideal Candidate A High School Degree or GED. Minimum of 2-3 years of medical or health care related setting/front desk preferred Proven experience with insurance verifications and patient billing. Must have a working knowledge of computer and respect for confidentiality. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to detail. Bilingual skills a plus.
