As a math teacher, you will design, implement, and assess curricular and instructional activities in alignment with the Virginia Standards of Learning, fostering growth and success among diverse learners. Your work will directly influence student achievement and the broader community. Essential Job Functions Meet and instruct students in assigned locations and times. Design coherent instruction based on subject knowledge, current practices, student needs, and curriculum goals. Plan lessons to achieve objectives aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and division guidelines. Prepare classes and provide evidence of preparation upon request. Diagnose individual, group, and program needs, and allocate resources accordingly. Evaluate student progress, provide specific feedback, maintain records, and prepare progress reports. Use assessment strategies and instruments to guide short‑term and long‑range instruction. Administer standardized tests following established procedures. Communicate student performance expectations. Document learning gains with appropriate assessment tools. Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum, subject, and instructional practices. Create meaningful learning experiences for all students. Education and Experience Required Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Ability to obtain required Virginia licensure and endorsement(s). Acceptable rating of prior teaching experience, as applicable. Preferred Current Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional license in a specific endorsement area. Prior teaching experience in a public school system. Benefits and Working Conditions The position offers a competitive salary range of $54,902 to $104,737 per year, monthly PTO accrual, healthcare plans, VRS enrollment or transition, FMLA and short‑term disability leave, tuition reimbursement, EAPs, and employer‑paid life insurance. Employment is a 10‑Month (200‑day) contract with a minimum of 7.5 hours per day, evaluated annually. Additional compensation may be awarded for credits earned toward advanced degrees.
