American Institute, founded in 1924 as the Hartford Secretarial School, provides hands-on training for careers in the world of business, legal, allied healthcare, diagnostic medical sonography, and information technology. Recognizing our single, well-defined teaching mission: reflecting job market demands with flexibility in identifying and incorporating new programs to give our graduates an edge in today's competitive job market.

The Relationship Development Representative plays a crucial role in American Institute by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and driving enrollment growth. This position is dedicated to expanding our reach within the community, enhancing our visibility, and securing resources that support our educational programs. The Relationship Development Representative will lead enrollment activities for potential students and conduct enrollment interviews, ensuring that prospective students are well-informed and aligned with our institution's values and goals.

What You'll Do:

  1. Identify and Cultivate Partnerships: Seek out and establish relationships with healthcare organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to create opportunities for collaboration and support.
  2. Drive Enrollment Growth: Develop and implement strategies to attract prospective students, including outreach initiatives, marketing campaigns, and community engagement activities.
  3. Conduct Enrollment Interviews: Meet with prospective students to discuss their goals, provide information about our programs, and assess their fit with our institution.
  4. Foster Community Relationships: Engage with local communities to enhance the school's visibility and reputation, and to build a network of supporters and advocates.
  5. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with admissions, marketing, and academic teams to align efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to student recruitment and partnership development.
  6. Track and Report Progress: Maintain records of outreach activities, partnerships, and enrollment metrics, and provide regular reports to leadership on progress and outcomes.
  7. Represent the School: Attend events, conferences, and meetings to represent the school and promote its mission and programs.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in business development, career services, employment services, or related role, preferably in an allied health setting.
  • Skills communication/interpersonal skills, relationship building/rapport, and time management.
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Any advanced degree or equivalent experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in any of the above required skills/experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in sales, staffing, or business-to-business (B2B) sales.
  • Experience in employment staffing, career services, out-placement services and/or business development.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Other skills or abilities leadership, professional sales, business development, customer service, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Compliance:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follow all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This is a full-time campus-based position with travel as required within an assigned territory.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.

Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation Range

$62,000 - $65,000 USD
