In this role, you'll ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the data generated by CMM programs. Those programs are developed and maintained to verify that products manufactured are configured to meet customer requirements. It's a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented person to grow their career with a stable, growing company.Required Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent1+ years of hands-on experience operating a stationary CMMWorking knowledge of the software that supports the CMM (PC-DMIS)Comfort applying advanced mathematics using manuals and specifications, precision measuring instruments, and technical softwarePreferred Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience operating portable CMM equipment, in addition to stationary CMMsA 2-year technical college education or a completed apprenticeship in a recognized trade, craft, or occupationCore CompetenciesCommitment to company values and ethicsDependability: you take personal responsibility and complete your work on time and accuratelyMotivation: you bring a positive attitude and strong work energyOrganization: you're very detail-oriented and always come preparedProblem Solving: you develop and implement new ideas to improve processesDay-to-Day ResponsibilitiesOperate Coordinate Measuring equipment to measure component dimensions against specified requirementsInstall and run CMM programs to support production, and draw sketches in Computer Aided Design (CAD) and/or CATIAReview manufacturing planning, engineering drawings, and digital models (when available) to determine the dimensions and tolerances for each part or toolSet up and run CMM inspections: select programs, choose and calibrate ruby-tipped probes, position and level parts on the surface plate, and record measurementsCompare results to specified dimensions and tolerances, and note any discrepanciesRun manual dimensional checks to verify questionable results, and document all non-conforming conditions according to established proceduresPerform general maintenance, such as stoning the surface plate and cleaning the machines, and keep the work area clean and organized.
