Responsibilities
- Provide direct, peri-procedural nursing care in the GI lab during interventional procedures, including colonoscopies, EGD, bronchoscopies, feeding tube placements, ERCP, EBUS, GI bleeds, flexible sigmoidoscopy, foreign body retrieval, navigation bronchoscopy, variceal banding, Bravo manometry, and capsule endoscopy.
- Prepare procedure rooms, ensure sterile technique, assist the physician with equipment and procedural workflow, monitor patient status, and manage sedation under approved protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and respiratory status during and after procedures; respond to adverse events with appropriate nursing interventions.
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record; assist with post-procedure recovery, discharge instructions, and patient education.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, manage on-call coverage, and communicate changes in patient condition.
- Adhere to facility policies and safety standards; participate in quality improvement activities as applicable.
- Note: Holiday coverage as outlined by the assignment requires working two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day) and one minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve).

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent GI Lab RN experience
- Required certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS
- Shift requirements: ability to work 4x10-hour shifts with on-call during the week and weekend, plus holiday coverage as specified
- Travel eligibility: no local candidates within 50 miles; this is a travel assignment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced GI/pulmonary interventional lab setting
