About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Recent experience in Med/Tele for 18+ months Strong communication and time management skills Rural hospital experience preferred Description: This position requires a team player who is committed to providing high-quality care to patients. The facility relies heavily on travelers in Med/Tele units and requires staff flexibility. Workers will be scheduled based on the needs of the unit. Travelers must be available for every other weekend and holiday shifts. Staff will float to all med/surg units as needed. The unit has a patient ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse. Only Heparin drip is titrated by RN staff. Tele monitor technicians are present to monitor patients, but RNs are required to read strips. CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow patients are managed on this unit. There may be a charge nurse, house supervisors, and nurse educators available for support. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assist on the unit with a typical ratio of 12:1. The charting system utilized is transitioning to a new platform soon. Shifts are scheduled by the manager, and block scheduling is not available. The cancellation policy allows for a certain number of shifts to be canceled per assignment.
