About the Role

The Payroll & Benefits Manager will oversee the full payroll function for a multi-state workforce while managing employee benefits administration and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, and third-party vendors to deliver an exceptional employee experience.

Responsibilities

Payroll

• Manage the full-cycle weekly payroll process for a multi-state employee population.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, including overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
• Maintain and administer ADP Workforce Now.
• Process new hires, terminations, employee changes, PTO, and payroll updates.
• Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll with Finance.
• Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.

Benefits

• Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefit plans.
• Manage benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations.
• Serve as the primary contact for benefit vendors and brokers.
• Coordinate annual open enrollment and employee communications.
• Reconcile benefit invoices and payroll deductions.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations.
• Partner with HR on leave administration and employee support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience.
• Strong experience processing multi-state payroll .
• Hands-on expertise with ADP Workforce Now (required).
• Experience administering employee benefits.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, and compliance regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPP certification is a plus.
