Contract | Onsite | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours per Week | 13–26 Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity, fast-paced cardiac and stroke stepdown unit with patient ratios of 1:5–6
• Care for stable pre- and post-procedure cardiac patients including those recovering from pacemaker implantation, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator placement, cardiac catheterization, and interventional peripheral vascular procedures
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Monitor and interpret telemetry for patients with diagnoses including unstable angina, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC (Dimensions), and SBAR communication framework
• Float within or near the facility as needed and participate in on-call rotation based on patient census

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac stepdown or similarly high-acuity setting with comparable patient ratios and acuity levels
• Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with cardiac drips and PCI patient care
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
• Familiarity with EPIC (Dimensions) electronic health records system
• Experience caring for patients requiring Bipap (chronic use), high-flow oxygen, and non-rebreather masks in a stepdown environment
