Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Onsite | Nights (12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity cardiac stepdown and stroke unit managing a patient assignment of up to 5–6 patients per shift
• Monitor and manage cardiac patients including pre and post procedure care for pacemaker implantation, implantable cardioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, and interventional peripheral vascular procedures
• Initiate and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Care for patients presenting with unstable angina, chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA
• Operate telemetry monitoring, pulse oximetry, high-flow oxygen delivery, non-rebreather masks, and BiPAP (chronic use only)
• Participate in on-call rotation, floating within the facility as needed, and every-other-weekend scheduling requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown or similarly high-acuity setting
• Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with cardiac drips and PCI patient care
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience
• Familiarity with Pyxis, Epic (Dimensions), and SBAR communication frameworks
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover
