This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a fleet of diesel trucks and equipment, including electrical and hydraulic systems.SchedulePrimary Schedule: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PMTraining Schedule: Early morning hours during initial training periodDays: Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays as neededPay$33–$35 hourly, based on experienceCDL preferred (not required)Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel trucks and equipmentDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using computerized diagnostic systemsInitiate repairs or assign corrective actions as neededPerform safety inspections and operational checks on fleet equipmentReview and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)Accurately document all maintenance activities using fleet maintenance software Track parts usage and repair timeMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentComply with OSHA regulations and company safety policiesWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shiftWork performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditionsExposure to: Moving mechanical partsFumes and vibrationModerate noise levelsMust follow all standard safety precautions at all timesMinimum Requirements2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferredStrong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systemsFamiliarity with fleet maintenance software and inspection protocolsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentComfortable working in physically demanding conditions year-roundWhat We OfferCompetitive pay Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Long-Term Disability & Life Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid vacation and holidays Year-round job stability Supportive and safety-focused management teamWaste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
