Court Services Supervisor 1 (Civil)

Salary The salary range for this position is $64,962.45 to $105,602.61 for Schedule A, and $64,962.45 to $100,322.50 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after August 29, 2015, are considered Schedule B. Responsibilities Supervise the day‑to‑day operations of a case management team comprised of professional, paraprofessional, and support staff, in person and remote. Regulate workflow in accordance with operating schedules and ensure team members function in accordance with human resources policies, laws, regulations, rules, directives, policies, and procedures. Advise management on personnel issues, investigate disciplinary matters, and address work performance deficiencies. Compile statistical data on workload volume and efficient court/unit operations; direct and coordinate work between units or teams. Monitor backlog, implement leadership strategies to accomplish organization/unit goals, and interact daily with judges and chamber staff. Answer questions from the public, customers, subordinates, supervisors, and managers; coordinate work hours; oversee special projects; mediate staff conflicts; review written reports for accuracy and completeness. Demonstrate commitment to diversity, inclusion, and staff engagement in the workplace. Use automated systems such as ACMS, eCourts, and virtual platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams). Remote Work The position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. A multifactor authentication app and high‑speed home internet access are required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and at least three (3) years of paraprofessional and/or professional experience, including one year in case management, enforcement of court orders, or supervision/intervention of offenders. Substitution options: one year of experience may be substituted for an additional year of education (30 semester‑hour credits), an associate degree plus two years additional experience, a master’s degree substituting for one year of general experience, or a JD substituting for two years of general experience. Driver's license valid in New Jersey may be required if vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties. Authorization to work in the U.S. per Immigration laws; U.S. citizenship not required. Commitment to complete a background check including fingerprinting. Foreign degrees outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized service.
