Senior Accounting Specialist

Description Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services is a highly specialized, organized team of chief financial officers, controllers, senior accountants, and bookkeeping specialists with years of experience working with small to mid‑sized organizations, for‑profit and non‑profit. Job Type Full-time About the Senior Accounting Specialist Role A Senior Accounting Specialist will maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial statements, and handle payroll processing. They also coordinate accounts payable and receivable, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and ensure tax compliance. Overall, the role supports clients' financial operations, ensures compliance, and provides valuable insights for decision‑making. Essential Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day financial reporting accuracy and on‑time processing of client information. Record journal entries in multiple accounting software systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Perform bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations. Conduct payroll reconciliations. Review and approve account classifications. Review the G/L for any missing transactions and overall accuracy. Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable. Reconcile subsidiary accounts to controls. Prepare sales tax returns. Preparation of initial/draft Management Reporting Package each month. Assist clients with various related issues. Process vendor bills and credit card transactions. Administer W‑9. Assist with audit preparation and assistance. Prepare monthly draft 1099 vendor reports and year‑end 1099s. May process payroll and related transactions, based on client needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred or Associate’s Degree with requisite experience. Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks; other accounting software experience is a plus. Experience with full‑charge accounting or strong experience with a combination of duties including data entry of day‑to‑day accounting transactions. Demonstrated ability to maintain month‑end closing procedures. Understanding of the difference between cash and accrual accounting. Experience balancing multiple clients across different industries. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi‑task. Excellent written, verbal, and follow‑through skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team‑based environment.
