Job Title: Electrical Test Technician (HVAC)

This role focuses on setting up, executing, and documenting HVAC component, system, and full-vehicle (bus-level) tests within an Engineering Prototype and Validation Lab. You will support product development, reliability validation, and performance verification of HVAC systems used in transit and electric bus applications. The position combines hands-on electrical and mechanical test setup with advanced data acquisition, instrumentation, and analytical reporting to ensure safe, accurate, and repeatable test results.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on electrical troubleshooting experience with HVAC equipment and related systems.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Practical experience working with 480 VAC and high-voltage systems up to approximately 650 VDC.
• Experience with PLCs and automation controls in a testing or industrial environment.
• Proficiency in setting up and using electrical measurement devices and 4–20 mA instrumentation circuits.
• Experience operating or supporting data acquisition systems such as NI, Agilent/Keysight, or Dewesoft.
• Ability to safely work with 12/24 VDC, 120/220/480 VAC, and 400–650 VDC electrical systems.
• Experience with harness assembly and connector systems such as Tyco, AMP, MOLEX, and Harting.
• Familiarity with VFD and PLC setup and basic programming or configuration for test applications.
• Ability to interface with CAN and LIN networks for controls integration and data collection.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret test data, identify anomalies, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Ability to create clear documentation including schematics, instrumentation lists, procedures, and test reports.
• Commitment to safety and ability to ensure safe and repeatable test setups in a lab environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant electrical certifications that demonstrate competency with industrial and high-voltage systems.
• Formal schooling or technical education in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience working with HVAC systems in manufacturing, testing, or field service environments.
• Familiarity with psychrometric testing, environmental test cells, and climate simulation equipment.
• Experience supporting environmental validation testing for complex systems or vehicles.
• Experience in identifying failure modes and participating in structured root cause analysis.
• Experience working in a prototype or engineering validation lab environment.
• Exposure to continuous improvement practices in testing, data quality, or lab operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
