Director of Sales (Hotel)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Director of Sales to lead our sales program and drive revenue growth across two locations in The Dalles and the Hood River area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality sales, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. These roles develop the network of relationships required to build market position and generate successful use of the hotel throughout the year. The Hood River and Dalles area is an outdoorsman's paradise, with the rich history of the West alongside the beautiful Columbia River. The right candidate will have an active lifestyle, be able to fit into the community, desire the challenge of growing two new hotels, and find adventure in what Oregon offers as these communities continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to maximize hotel revenue and market share.
  • Manages and implements each hotel’s strategies and plans to outperform competitors and gain market share from existing and prospective accounts.
  • Supports General Managers in hiring and mentoring other sales roles where the budget allows.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, event planners, and other key partners.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand the hotel's customer base.
  • Completes business cases and manages the RFP process for each hotel
  • Plans, organizes, and manages events from initial concept to execution, handles logistics, vendor coordination, and budget management
  • Inspires the hotel team by teaching the brand and encouraging their involvement at all levels. Cheering on successful interactions and support during events.
  • Develop event proposals to help each hotel utilize all available space, involving corporate, community, and hotel guests
  • Collaborate with marketing, operations, and revenue management teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and budgets to senior management.
  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Primary public relations representative for the hotel and brand champion to the travel, tourism, and hospitality associates to promote events
  • Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction throughout the sales process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience in hotel sales or hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Google
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
