Worldwide Account Manager Global International GAF

Job Description Summary:

• Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with assigned worldwide accounts. Identifies opportunities for account growth while offering customers a full array of value added services.
• Monitors competitor actions in each account to ensure that appropriate responses are formulated and communicated.
• Provides input into the overall account strategy in conjunction with the global business development director and is responsible for the execution of that strategy at the local level.

Essential Functions:

• Ensures attainment of revenue and margin/yield goals for assigned FedEx accounts.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for each account that ensures attainment of all required sales activities to include sales calls, service calls, proposal presentations, vim trips, as well as any other sales activities.
• Establishes relationships with senior officer levels within assigned accounts.
• Develops and maintains account intelligence system that records, stores, and reports all sales activities, account information, marketplace and industry information, competitive information, as well as any other necessary information.
• Directs the development and implementation of sales and marketing programs within assigned accounts.
• Monitors FedEx companies' product quality and customer satisfaction within assigned accounts.
• Directs and/or executes problem resolution for all assigned accounts.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor's degree/equivalent, preferably in business administration, with a major in marketing or finance.

Minimum Experience:

• Five (5) years of directly related freight forwarding experience and two (2) years of consultative business development exp with emphasis on strategic planning.
• Strong understanding of the air and ocean freight forwarding import process from po issuance to final delivery.
• Experience selling origin consolidation services, vendor compliance & po management.
• Knowledge of FedEx products and it systems required.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve major account sales goals & to plan & execute major customer sales strategies.
• Ability to seek out available resources to create preliminary comprehensive account overviews and summaries, basic financial competitive analyses by industry vertical & quantitative benchmarking preferred.
• Prefer understanding of quantitative value-added selling attributes such as proper container utilization, cube optimizing for ocean and air freight containers, impact of inventory turnover improvement on net profit margin, etc.
• Strong human relations, communication & negotiation skills. Heavy travel required.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Freight forwarding
• Proven experience managing large/global enterprise accounts
• Strong exposure to RFQs/RFPs

Pay Transparency:

Pay: $72,900-$136,800 annually

Additional Details: This position is eligible for telecommuting. Candidates must reside near a major U.S. airport; preferred locations include New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Chicago. Other locations will be considered, excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories.
