Service Technician - Class B

Used Car Technician – Nissan of Downtown LA (Dealership L0310) Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards. Responsibilities Diagnose cause of malfunction. Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements. Road-test vehicles to ensure quality of repair work. Accurately record time spent on repairs using company time-clock procedures. Document work performed on repair order and test procedures/results. Maintain inventory of normal mechanics tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, pliers, hammers, chisels, punches) and return special tools to proper location. Use shop supplies and materials economically. Maintain organized and clean workspace, completing daily stall cleaning. Ensure customer’s vehicles are returned clean. Complete required training and obtain manufacturer and ASE certifications. Participate in and utilize technical training; review technical bulletins. Communicate constructively with dealership personnel; report safety or condition concerns. Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards per departmental policies (clean gray shirts, beaded trousers, no buckle belts). Arrive, take breaks, and depart at times designated by management. Qualifications Strong attention to detail. Sense of urgency. Excellent communication. Passed manufacturer training and capable of performing repairs in the following areas without supervision: Lube and Maintenance Services, Engine Repair, Suspension/Steering Repair, Brake Repair, Electrical/Electrical Systems Repair, Heating and A/C Repair, Engine Drivability Diagnosis and Repair (Optional). Manufacturer certified in all areas listed above. Minimum three ASE certifications (preferably ASE Master Technician). Greater than 105% Customer Pay proficiency level. Three to five years automotive technical experience. Acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license. Benefits Competitive hourly pay range of $17.87 to $35.74, varies by experience.
