Laboratory Director – Alexandria, Louisiana Salary Range: $47.00–$70.00/hr (based on experience) Full-Time Leadership Role | Relocation & Sign-On Considered Case-by-Case A leading acute-care hospital in Central Louisiana is seeking a Laboratory Director to oversee all clinical laboratory services, including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Phlebotomy. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for operational direction, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, staffing, and departmental strategy. With approximately 75 FTEs, this role is ideal for a seasoned Laboratory Supervisor or Manager ready to step into senior leadership. Position Summary The Laboratory Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of all laboratory operations. This includes ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining CLIA and CAP standards, promoting a culture of safety and quality, and supporting organizational goals. The Director must uphold the highest ethical standards and consistently model professionalism and accountability. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee daily lab operations across multiple disciplines Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting regulations Lead, develop, and mentor a team of ~75 FTEs Collaborate with hospital leadership to meet organizational goals Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, and performance improvement initiatives Maintain cost-effective operations, supply chain oversight, and budget management Support phlebotomy operations and ensure high service excellence Drive operational improvements and implement new processes when needed Communicate clearly with staff, physicians, and executive leadership Qualifications Recent acute-care laboratory supervisory experience (no minimum years required) State-licensed Medical Technologist Bachelor's degree or higher in: Clinical Laboratory Science Medical Technology Chemical, biological, or physical science ASCP certification required Strong leadership skills and ability to manage large teams Ability to ensure departmental compliance, quality, and operational efficiency Reason for Opening: Retirement Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case
