Job Title: Multi-craft Maintenance Tech - Night Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our team on the night shift at our facility in North Jackson, OH. This role involves maintaining and repairing equipment to ensure smooth operations, with a focus on both mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety and shift turnover meetings.
• Review equipment issues from the previous shift.
• Prioritize work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Gather tools, parts, and lockout/tagout equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures.
• Repair conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections.
• Work with operations personnel to diagnose production issues.
• Replace worn components before failure occurs.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and installations.
• Read schematics and maintenance documentation.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Complete maintenance documentation.
• Communicate outstanding issues to the incoming crew.
• Update supervisors on equipment status and repairs completed.

Essential Skills

• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Comfortable working in a steel mill environment with heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting ability.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• PLC troubleshooting.
• Motor controls and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) experience.
• Industrial electrical experience (480V).
• Welding and fabrication.
• Rigging experience.
• Bearing replacement and pump repair.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs (CMMS).
• Steel mill experience.
• Union manufacturing experience.
• Multi-craft maintenance BG (mechanical and electrical).

Work Environment

The work environment involves exposure to heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment, typical of a steel mill setting. The role requires working night shifts from 10pm to 7am, with overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lordstown, OH.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Lordstown,OH.
