Position: Logistics Customer Service Representative
Location : Elgin, IL
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay: $19–$20/hour

The Logistics Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as a key point of contact for customers, providing support and information related to orders, shipments, deliveries, and logistics services. This position works closely with customers, carriers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to ensure orders are processed accurately and deliveries are completed efficiently. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding orders, shipments, deliveries, and logistics-related inquiries.
• Communicate with customers by phone, email, and other electronic channels to provide timely updates and resolve questions or concerns.
• Process customer orders, order changes, shipment requests, and related documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor shipment and delivery status and communicate updates, delays, or changes to customers as needed.
• Coordinate with carriers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and internal departments to resolve delivery and order issues.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude when assisting customers, including during time-sensitive or stressful situations.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns whenever possible; escalate issues beyond the representative's knowledge or authority to the appropriate department or manager.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, orders, shipments, delivery information, and service issues.
• Enter and update information accurately within company systems and logistics software.
• Develop a strong understanding of company services, shipping processes, and procedures to effectively assist customers.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are addressed and shipments move efficiently.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer service, order accuracy, and logistics processes and provide feedback to management.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Previous customer service experience required; experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, warehousing, or supply chain preferred.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to work efficiently with two monitors.
• Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software, order management systems, and logistics platforms.
• Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute (WPM).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong active listening skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective when handling frustrated customers or time-sensitive delivery issues.
• Ability to manage multiple orders, customer requests, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with customers, carriers, drivers, warehouse teams, and internal departments.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• At least two years of related experience preferred.
• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight, distribution, or supply chain customer service is a plus.
