Anesthesia Technician – Per Diem – NYP/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital – Evenings Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Essential Job Duties Provides approved assistance to anesthesiologists/CRNAs during induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia. Assists anesthesiologists/CRNAs with placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices. Maintains equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost‑effective anesthesia care for all patients. Applies principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and disposal of equipment or supplies. Sets up sterile equipment such as IV, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique. Sets up, operates, and disassembles cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned. Performs standard procedural checks on equipment and reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. Ensures sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE, fiber optic scopes and LMA devices. Maintains clean and orderly workroom areas before, during and after each shift. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned. Preferred Criteria Minimum one year of anesthesia tech experience ASATT Certification BCLS certification Required Criteria High School Diploma or GED Mechanical training or experience with equipment, including knowledge of sterilizer operation and sterility techniques. All roles require on-site presence. Employees must live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
