About the Role CJ OLIVE YOUNG USA is seeking a creative and strategy-driven Senior Specialist in Visual Merchandising (VMD) and Spatial Design. This role is responsible for planning and executing space design for new store openings and major renewals, establishing product display guides, and enhancing the overall customer shopping experience based on our brand vision and latest trends. Key Responsibilities New Store & Renewal Space Design: Plan, design, and execute spatial graphics and visual merchandising concepts for new and remodeled store projects; oversee on-site installation and execution. Conceptual & Strategic Spatial Planning: Develop and implement spatial graphics and VMD displays rooted in brand strategy and market trends. Merchandising & Display Guidelines: Formulate, manage, and audit product display and visual presentation guidelines by brand and category. Customer Experience Optimization: Formulate and implement VMD improvement initiatives designed to enhance and elevate the in-store customer shopping journey. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 6 to 10 years of professional experience in Visual Merchandising (VMD) or retail space design, with a proven track record within the retail, beauty, or lifestyle brand industries. Technical Skills: High proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and solid capability in 3D/CAD software (SketchUp, AutoCAD). Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Space Design, Interior Design, Graphic Design, or a related creative field. Preferred Qualifications Strategic Project Experience: Proven experience in spatial strategy, conceptual planning, and design development for flagship stores, concept stores, or high-priority strategic locations. Competencies: High-performing communication skills with a creative mindset; ability to manage project risks flexibly; strong execution and drive to translate ideas into reality. Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is a strong plus (for seamless alignment with global/Korea HQ design teams). Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods during on-site store installations, with the capability to occasionally lift or move design materials/fixtures up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
