Senior Legal Counsel (Energy)

We are working with a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure company building and operating high-performance data centers and GPU compute platforms for leading AI labs, enterprises, and hyperscalers. As the business continues to expand globally, they are seeking a senior Energy Attorney to support the development and execution of their energy strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for power procurement, including drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements (PPAs), energy supply agreements, and related commercial contracts
• Advise on interconnection, transmission, and grid access arrangements
• Support development of large-scale data center projects with a focus on energy strategy and infrastructure
• Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance matters across key energy markets
• Partner with internal teams on site selection, energy sourcing, and long-term capacity planning
• Manage external counsel across multiple jurisdictions

Requirements

• 8+ years’ PQE, ideally trained at a leading law firm (Big Law / top-tier international firm)
• Significant experience in energy law, ideally within power, renewables, utilities, or infrastructure
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating PPAs and other complex energy agreements
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and grid/interconnection processes
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or data center projects is highly preferred
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
