The Echocardiographer will perform a full range of cardiac ultrasound procedures, assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations, and ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings. This role requires advanced technical expertise, clinical judgment, and adherence to strict medical and safety standards.\n General Duties:\n Perform services within the scope of clinical training and privileges granted by the MTF. \n Maintain productivity and quality standards comparable to government personnel. \n Ensure all procedures and documentation meet DHA and MTF requirements. \n Provide support to other departments when needed, based on workload and skillset.\n Specific Duties:\n Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), and stress echocardiograms. \n Conduct specialized studies including contrast studies, bubble studies, arterial Dopplers, ABI, and abdominal aortic duplex exams. \n Prepare patients for procedures and obtain vital signs. \n Review and document patient history and clinical data. \n Acquire high-quality diagnostic images of cardiac structures and blood flow. \n Identify abnormalities and determine need for additional imaging. \n Assist physicians during advanced cardiac procedures. \n Establish intravascular access when required. \n Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records. \n Upload and manage diagnostic reports in electronic systems. \n Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols. \n Clean, disinfect, and maintain ultrasound equipment. \n Perform quality control checks and ensure proper calibration of equipment. \n Support cardiopulmonary lab administrative and operational functions. \n Maintain coding accuracy (CPT/E&M) at ≥90% standard. \n Follow approved abbreviations and documentation standards per MTF policy. \n Provide support in other departments when assigned by leadership.\n Qualifications:\n Degree: Completion of a cardiovascular technologist program accredited by CAAHEP (JRC-CVT). \n Education: May include additional training via accredited medical assistant or military medical program. \n Certification: \n Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required \n Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required \n Must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified \n Board Certification: \n RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) OR \n RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) \n Experience: \n Minimum 24 months of recent experience performing cardiac ultrasound procedures \n Licensure/Registration: \n Active credential through ARDMS or CCI required \n Skills and Abilities:\n Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics. \n Strong proficiency in echocardiography techniques and equipment. \n Ability to interpret and recognize abnormal cardiac findings. \n Excellent patient care and communication skills. \n Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. \n Ability to operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment. \n Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures. \n Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. \n Schedule:\n Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.\n Schedule may vary based on clinic needs.\n Work Environment:\n Cardiology or diagnostic imaging department within a Military Treatment Facility. \n Direct patient care with advanced imaging equipment. \n Collaborative environment with cardiologists and healthcare staff.\n Immunization Requirement:\n Must meet all Department of Defense and facility-specific immunization requirements.\n Security Requirement:\n Must be eligible to work on a federal installation and pass background/security clearance.\n AIMS Locum Tenens Job ID #1208.About AIMS Locum Tenens\n \n AIMS is a healthcare staffing and management company supporting federal, military, and commercial healthcare organizations across the United States.
