Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care on our 4th-floor Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in high acuity telemetry and must be stroke certified, with a strong background in caring for stroke patients.

Position Details

• Unit: Telemetry 4th Floor
• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Shift Notes: Night shifts, with a requirement of 2 weekends every 4 weeks and holiday coverage as needed

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS
• Experience in telemetry, stepdown, or progressive care unit (PCU)
• Must be certified in stroke care
• Candidates within a 50-mile radius are encouraged to apply; no local rates apply
• No dual employment; must prioritize travel assignment schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with cardiac and telemetry needs
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; nurses must be able to read and interpret their own strips
• Administer medications and treatments as per protocols
• Assist with various patient diagnoses, including stroke, heart failure, respiratory failure, diabetes, and hypertension
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Floating to medical-surgical telemetry floors within the facility may be required

Additional Information

The position includes opportunities for extra shifts; however, block or set scheduling cannot be accommodated. The facility has a supportive environment with hospitalists available 24/7, and respiratory therapy and pharmacy services also available around the clock.

Location

This position is located in a region that offers easy access to several national parks, including Yosemite, and a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing. Nearby towns include Atwater, Linton, and Le Grand, with convenient day trips available to Mariposa, Groveland, or El Portal. Affordable housing options are available in the area.

Orientation and Training

Onboarding will include a floor-specific orientation. If the candidate has experience with Cerner EMR, they will receive 2 days of orientation; otherwise, 3 days will be required.
