The Trauma Surgical/Medical-Surgical (MS/Tele) Unit cares for a diverse range of acute trauma and surgical cases. Specializing in interdisciplinary care in collaboration with surgeons, hospitalists, and family practice physicians, you'll expand your expertise across trauma, ortho, and urology patient needs. Working here means adding valuable experience to your resume-whether practicing specialized care, navigating new systems, or floating to various hospitals and units. With flexible weekly schedules-36 or 48 hours, holidays as needed, and alternate weekends-you'll enjoy a dynamic, supportive setting focused on teamwork and patient-centered care.


Schedule:

• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays as scheduled

• Associate degree in Nursing
• Active RN license in Alabama or compact license (no temporary licenses accepted; NURSYS verification required)
• Current AHA (or Red Cross) BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience-may consider 18 months if at least 1 year is recent in specialty area
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals within the system

• Deliver compassionate and expert care to trauma, surgical, ortho, and urology patients
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team for individualized patient care
• Adapt to various unit protocols while maintaining high clinical standards
• Effectively manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Maintain open communication with patients, families, and care teams
