Travel Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Cottondale, AL

This role is suited for registered nurses drawn to dynamic environments, with the flexibility to float between various units and facilities. You'll join a Medical Respiratory Unit specializing in both acute and chronic respiratory care-supporting patients facing conditions like COPD, pneumonia, shortness of breath, and other lung diseases. The 42-bed unit provides exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration, while additional experience awaits in our 8-bed respiratory step-down area.


Key Details

• Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week (your choice)
• Holidays as required
• Every other weekend coverage

Desired Background & Credentials

• Associate degree in nursing (required)
• Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification
• Registered Nurse, holding an active Alabama or multistate compact license (no temporary licenses accepted, must be NURSYS verified)
• At least 18 months of nursing experience, including 1 year of recent expertise in the Med-Surg/Respiratory specialty (2 years preferred)

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on care for a diverse patient population with a primary focus on respiratory and medical conditions
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio (with 1:4 in step-down)
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team through daily rounds
• Adapt to floating assignments as needed within the system
