Job Title: Physical Therapist (PT) – PRN | Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry
Location: Port St. Lucie
Employment Type: PRN / Per Diem. Approximately 3 x per week 2-3 hours per visit
Overview
We are seeking an experienced, patient-centered Physical Therapist (PRN) to evaluate and treat patients in our specialized Geriatric inpatient behavioral health facility. This role focuses primarily on addressing functional mobility, fall risk reduction, and physical rehab needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct physical therapy evaluations and provide treatment for short term patients.
Focus on fall prevention, safe transfers, gait training, and functional mobility to promote safe discharge.
Educate clinical staff and family members on safe handling techniques and adaptive equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT or MPT).
Licensure: Active, unrestricted Florida Physical Therapy License.
Certifications: Current BLS/CPR Certification.
Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience with geriatric populations (skilled nursing, acute rehab, or inpatient hospital setting).
Prior experience in inpatient psychiatry, behavioral health, or memory care units is strongly preferred.
