Practice Assistant

Soni is partnering with a global law firm that is seeking a Practice Assistant for their New York City headquarters. This individual will join a global professional services organization where operations, client service, and collaboration are central to delivering an exceptional experience for attorneys, clients, and colleagues. This role is part of a Practice Assistant team that supports a fast-paced legal environment, partnering closely with attorneys and business services professionals across multiple practice groups. The position combines administrative, operational, and legal support responsibilities, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. The team values professionalism, responsiveness, teamwork, and a proactive approach to client service.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and legal support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating conferences and appointments.
• Coordinate complex domestic and international travel arrangements, prepare itineraries, and process attorney expense reports.
• Manage incoming communications, monitor correspondence, answer and route calls, and maintain timely communication with attorneys and legal staff.
• Support practice operations through client and matter maintenance, conflict search requests, file management, timesheet processing, billing support, and document preparation.
• Assist with client development activities, marketing initiatives, proposal preparation, visitor reception, and additional practice-specific projects as needed.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or legal services environment.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline driven setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and colleagues at all levels.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Compensation; $81,000 - $122,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
