Qualifications Here's What You Need Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience No experience required PCT, Transporter, or medical background experience is preferred Licenses and Certifications BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly) required

What You Will Do Patient Care Uses multidisciplinary, team oriented actions Assesses and recognizes the patient's emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions Greets and escorts patient, using two forms of ID and assists with time-out procedures Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and assists with patient monitoring Demonstrates knowledge of the location and purpose of equipment Patient Transport Equipment Operation and Maintenance Operates, cares for and cleans ancillary equipment Documents ancillary equipment malfunction Cleans equipment and room to sanitary standards Assists with daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checklist Professional Accountability and Partnership Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement Attends departmental continuing education, meetings, and checks email Identifies, troubleshoots and initiates quality improvement Manages time and reprioritizes as necessary Displays proper phone etiquette
