Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position in Louisiana, requiring Epic proficiency, ACLS/BLS/CPI/NIH certifications, and experience with Impella and NxStage devices.

Details

• Hospital ICU setting with floating required to other ICUs, the ED, and PACU to care for ICU-level patients, with occasional float to MS/PCU units at a 1:4 ratio
• Standard patient ratio is 1:2, with occasional flex to 1:3
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Nurses are responsible for all lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Stations, and Veratron Bladder Scanners
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with Impella and NxStage devices strongly preferred
• A supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months is required for consideration
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Must know your N95 mask size prior to starting
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for a $100 fee if not already held
• Nurses are expected to care for isolation patients, including potential COVID-19 cases
• RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
• Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have a gap of at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
• Work history gaps of more than 30 days must be documented and explained
