Shift: 8-hour shifts (Start times vary: 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM)

Work Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Shift start times vary (7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM)
• Five shifts per week
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays
• Rotating weekends are mandatory
• Pretest required before submission
• Candidate must live within 30 miles of the facility

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Minimum 1 2 years of patient registration, admissions, or clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer and data entry skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interview patients and accurately collect demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Register patients and create/update patient records in the hospital information system.
• Verify insurance coverage and assign appropriate insurance codes.
• Obtain patient consents, signatures, and required authorizations.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of registration and insurance documentation.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and provide professional customer service.
• Assist patients, families, and visitors with registration-related inquiries.
• Collaborate with departmental staff to meet patient registration and scheduling needs.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
