Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall accounting operations of the company. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
• Review invoices for accuracy and obtain necessary approvals.
• Prepare and file state use tax.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Maintain vendor and customer account information.
• Prepare journal entries and support account reconciliations.
• Assist with payroll processing and related reporting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Construction industry accounting experience.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and sales tax reporting.
• Experience with job costing and project accounting.
