With a presence in more than 40 countries, Molex offers a full suite of solutions and services for many markets, including data communications, consumer electronics, industrial, automotive, commercial vehicle and medical products.As Principal Launch Engineer with the CSBU IO Engineering team your primary focus will be to solve our toughest product-related challenges, on our top projects to help the team drive our products reliability faster to the market while we launch our next-generation high-speed connectors and cables. You will be joining a large organization of multi-cross functional team members to interact with. You will partner with them to solve some of toughest challenges. Your role will be the owner of detailed analysis, trouble shooting, product design knowledge, laboratory test knowledge, system design knowledge, intimate customer system application requirement knowledge, bridging this detailed knowledge with us to our manufacturing process and capabilities to help drive the team to reliably deliver our product on time.Successful applicants must exhibit the following characteristics:Dynamic problem-solving skills, curiosity, persistence to get to true root caseA demonstrated strong capacity for complex problem-solving – Software, Mechanical, Electrical and production manufacturingCompetence in communicating technical information to diverse (including non-technical) audiences to drive actionable outcomesA sincere drive for continuous learning and application of new knowledgeThe ability to plan and execute projects with minimal directionAn eager attitude towards tackling new and unfamiliar challengesA leader who can pull teams together, lead & drive actions & positive outcomesThe location for this role is flexible between Lisle IL, Conway Arkansas, or Freemont California – remote potential for right candidate.What You Will DoBe a team member in a global organization helping to successfully launch our leading-edge new products and components for the high-speed cable and connector industry. These may include high-speed connectors, connector cable assemblies, PCBA’s and other interconnect products.Interface with professional cross-functional team members in our signal integrity, manufacturing integration, program management, sales organization, test laboratory, high tech R&D model shop, and senior leadership teams.Lead & Own critical problem-solving activities within Molex, acting as subject matter expert where appropriate, but ultimately the central hub linking the groups together to solve issues.Present findings, learnings, and plans internally and to customers to obtain support for changes that may come from the root cause analysis and problem-solving outcomes. Lead Manufacturing and Quality Assurance during product launches issues travel spend time during critical launches at our manufacturing sites with the global teamCreate relationships with senior leadership, cross functional team members and peers through team building activities and growth opportunities operating as One Molex TeamProvide leadership, support, and guidance to junior team members on problem solving, and solutioning.Retain responsibility for follow-up, documentation, publishing, and expediting all action items of all projects you are working on to solve issues driving Molex to a safe launchBe aware of timeliness, need to solve problems and challenges quickly – take decisive decisions with sufficient data but do not pontificate while trying to boil the oceanBe fully capable of presenting your findings as required to a customer audience in a clear and concise format for maximum understanding and impactWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Quality Engineering, or a related field12+ years of experience in electro-mechanical product design, manufacturing experience, quality experience and development with proven technical leadershipExperience with product development in the electronics industriesStrong understanding of engineering tools including FEA, GD&T and Tolerance AnalysisExperience with advanced parametric 3D CAD systemsIntermediate to advanced level of Signal Integrity understandingHeavy experience with products manufactured using all the following processes: progressive die stamping, injection molding, die casting, plating, laser welding, soldering and insert moldingExperience with new technology development and new product launchesSix Sigma Background in problem solving – Proven track record of problem solvingAbility to internationally travel up to 50% of the timeWhat Will Put You AheadMaster’s degree or PhD in Engineering or other related engineering fieldSiemens NX experienceDesign experience with high-speed, high-density connectors, cable assemblies, and interconnect productsBlack Belt in Six Sigma, Shainin Red XUnderstanding and application of sound project management techniques managing projects to timelines, due dates and deadlinesFor this role, we anticipate paying $150,000-$300,000 per year.
