Respiratory Therapist Position

This position is for the future Fort Wayne Hospital that opens in May 2027. Until the hospital opens, this position would work at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. Full time, night shift with a night shift pay differential included. Every third weekend and holiday rotation. New hire bonus of up to $30,000 to eligible external candidates. Relocation bonus of up to $10,000 available to eligible external candidates based on location.

Our Respiratory Therapists (RT) work closely with our patients to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders ranging in modalities and demographics. We are also responsible for collaborating with various different entities in the hospital setting including nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure total customer happiness and support.

Requirements:

• Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Pass the N.B.R.C. (National Board for Respiratory Care) registry exam within 6 months of hire date. The 6 month requirement for the RRT is void if hire date is one year past graduation date.
• Healthcare Provider Certification. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deal with confidential patient information.
• Basic computer skills and ability to work with EMR.
