Overview
Labor and Delivery Nurse (RN) – Travel, L&D in Templeton, CA. Start date 10/26/2026 for a 13-week assignment. Weekly pay $2,699–$2,785 with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Shift: 3x12-hour nights, with onboarding on day shift before transitioning to nights (day shift typically 07:00–19:30; night shift approximately 19:00–07:30). Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital.

Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations
- Circulate for cesarean deliveries and manage perinatal emergencies (crash C-section, precipitous delivery, shoulder dystocia)
- Assess fetal and maternal status, monitor amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and identify/act on abnormalities
- Manage pain control during labor and support alternative pain management when appropriate; assist with epidural catheter placement and post-medication monitoring
- Educate patients and families on perinatal and postpartal care, using culturally appropriate methods
- Document nursing care clearly and timely, evaluate patient responses, and collaborate with the care team to implement goals
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice
- Apply LDRP model care principles and contribute to a multidisciplinary care plan

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience; LDRP model experience
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required; Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course required
- EPIC electronic medical record experience
- Must have active NRP and ACLS as applicable; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS and AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS compliance
- No on-call requirement; ability to work day shift during onboarding and transition to night shift
- Ability to work in a high-acuity obstetric environment and respond to perinatal emergencies
