This position will provide essential research support for an expanding cardiovascular research program. This position requires a working knowledge of laboratory procedures, animal husbandry, and medical/surgical care of large animals (i.e. swine) and rodent laboratory animal models. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance, policies, procedures, and regulations. This position is established in support of expanded research activities. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and 1 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications Possess a working knowledge of laboratory procedures and laboratory compliance. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must be able to assist in an animal lab setting with mouse and pig models of cardiac remodeling, including colony maintenance, basic animal husbandry, echocardiography, maintaining inventory of consumables, and preventive maintenance of instruments in large animal area. Must have the ability to perform lab procedures in cell culture, microbiology, and biochemistry laboratory following written protocols, including basic histology, RNA and protein extraction, PCR and ELISA. Must be able to conduct data collection and data analysis in a timely manner for grant and journal publications. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
