Insurance Verification Specialist (Benefit Specialist)

Position: Insurance Verification Specialist (Benefit Specialist) Location: Jeffersonville, IN Job Id: 720 # of Openings: 0 A typical day in this role will include providing in-depth knowledge of our client programs by working directly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to answer inquiries, process service requests, assess benefits coverage, and manage through barriers, in a compliant manner, that stand in the way of patients and their access to therapy. The Benefits Specialist works in a dynamic and compassionate customer service role providing telephonic and web‑based, where applicable, customer service support. Key Responsibilities Perform patient level benefits verifications for all major medical and pharmacy benefits plans. Complete template forms that provide patient level benefits Coverage Determination Summary. Coordinate prior authorizations based on payer guidelines and in compliance with law, regulation or guidance. Review patient assistance enrollment forms and supporting documentation to assess eligibility per SOPs and program guidelines. Determine patient eligibility based upon program criteria for qualification. Communicate the patient’s eligibility to the patient, healthcare provider, and/or consignment pharmacy. Assist inbound callers through resolution utilizing answers to frequently asked questions or by warm transferring callers to appropriate individuals. Actively listen to each customer, assess needs, and respond with demonstrated patience and courtesy. Review and identify missing or incorrect information within program service requests/program applications. Report adverse events/products complaint inquiries in accordance with SOP and good manufacturer practices. Provide timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customer concerns. Effectively use the internal technology platform, PharmaCord Lynk, to complete claims processing and keep workflows moving. Communicate with key medical practice accounts and sales representatives regarding case status. Provide consultative services to overcome obstacles and get patients onto paid therapy. Maintain patient focus and commitment to high quality customer service while adhering to compliance and company policies. Utilize Valeris’ values as the driving force behind the team’s success. Ability to work effectively within a team. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience required; high school diploma or GED required. Six months of customer service experience, payer benefits experience, or healthcare industry experience or related certification/license preferred. Bilingual is a plus. Office‑based position; ability to sit for extended periods necessary. Flexibility to travel minimally preferred. Physical Demands & Work Environment Required to talk or hear regularly. Required to sit for long periods, use hands to type, handle materials, and reach with hands and arms. Typing at least 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy preferred. Travel flexibility minimally preferred. Professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Why Work for Valeris?
