General Dynamics in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide avionic mission computing systems for a wide range of military fast jets, helicopters, and UAVs. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and stores management systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.

In this role you will:

• Be responsible for the successful delivery of the engineering scope of work to the agreed budget and schedule for one or more cutting edge projects
• Lead a talented multi-disciplinary engineering team to delivery industry leading solutions
• Define and develop solutions to emerging customer needs
• Work with world-leading engineers across industry,governmentand academia
• Contribute to sovereign UKdefencecapability and international collaboration

To be successful in these roles we are looking for you to bring:

• Previous experience either as a Project Lead Engineer or a Domain Lead Engineer (e.g. Systems, Hardware, Software)
• A good understanding of the multi-disciplines involved in delivering projects
• A good understanding of the challenges associated with Avionic System Engineering such as operating environment
• Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng or equivalent) is desirable, but not essential. Weactively support employees in attaining CEng status
• Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred

This role has a salary of between 63,000 and 80,000 plus our flexible benefits package.

We are open to this role being spent with time working from home and in the office (hybrid - typically 3 days working in office) on a weekly basis or fully in our offices.
