Position Description: CHEMIAL DEPARTMENT MANAGER5-10 Years of Experience
SUMMARY
Moss Landscaping, Inc. is an award-winning, full-service landscape firm serving the Greater Houston area, including the neighborhoods of River Oaks, Memorial, West University, Tanglewood and the Houston Heights. We believe in quality and ensuring our clients’ investments, while continuing to add value to the property long after the original installation. Our Chemical Department Manager oversees the Spray Technicians and daily operations of the chemical department.
DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES
•\tTypes all chemical contracts and assists maintenance team on necessary bids for maintenance customers.
•\tThe Chemical Manager is responsible for analyzing and meeting designated sales goals and continually increase the efficiency of the department and projects.
•\tContinue to update the Chemical Department’s schedules and routes of when applications occur.
•\tEstablish and maintain professional customer relationships to increase client retention.
•\tMaintain quality control on all assigned properties and projects and ensure employees are trained in horticultural best techniques and practices when performing chemical applications.
•\tWalk properties as needed with the maintenance supervisors or chemical technicians.
•\tMaintain communication with maintenance staff and other departments to ensure job profitability.
•\tResponsible for communicating and enforcing Moss Landscaping’s Policies and Procedures to employees
•\tMust maintain software and programs in place in order to succeed at job and manage crews & properties
•\tPerforms other duties as assigned and assists departments when needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS + ABILITIES
•\tTeam oriented and able to offer support on special projects where needed
•\tMust be able to communicate effectively and professionally with assigned crews as well as clients, both in-person, over the phone and via email
•\tKnowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
•\tAble to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
•\tAbility to build and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and clients.
•\tMust be customer focused and be able to handle high volume of client requests
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + WORK ENVIRONMENT
•\tInvolves light to moderate work in most types of weather
•\tIncludes frequent standing, walking, sitting and active movement throughout the day
•\tThis is an autonomous position that requires self-sufficiency and self-motivation
•\tMust be confident and able to direct assigned team of employees and determine the best solutions to each client’s individual requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-10 years’ experience high-end residential landscaping management
•\tValid Texas Driver’s License• Chemical Applicator License
